In construction sites, scaffolding is an essential piece of equipment. It not only provides a safe working environment for construction workers but also enhances their efficiency and productivity. In this article, we will introduce five commonly used types of scaffolding, discussing their pros and cons as well as technical points.

Family-style Scaffold

The family-style scaffolding is a simple type of scaffolding. It is typically made of wood and pipes, and can be easily used for home renovations or the construction of small buildings. Its advantages include low cost, ease of installation and operation, but it has lower stability and load-bearing capacity, requiring frequent inspections and maintenance to ensure worker safety. Strict adherence to usage methods and rules is essential to prevent accidents.

Single-row scaffolding

Single-rank scaffolding is one of the commonly used types of scaffolding. It is typically made of steel pipes and plates, supporting the height of a single floor. Compared to residential scaffolding, single-rank scaffolding can bear more weight and provide a more stable working platform, though it requires professional installation and maintenance. Additionally, single-rank scaffolding must be properly adjusted and designed for different construction projects to ensure its safety and stability.

Double-deck scaffolding

Double-row scaffolding boasts higher load-bearing capacity and greater stability compared to single-row scaffolding. It consists of two scaffold platforms, supported by horizontal crossbars between them. Double-row scaffolding can be freely combined in terms of height and length to meet the requirements of various construction projects. However, it requires more professional personnel for assembly and disassembly than single-row scaffolding and necessitates stricter safety inspections and maintenance.

Pendulum Scaffold

Suspension scaffolding is primarily used in high-rise buildings or large bridge projects, where it is hoisted and suspended externally from the structure or bridge. This type of scaffolding allows for continuous construction in the vertical direction and can be adjusted and moved according to the project's needs. However, it requires highly skilled personnel for operation and maintenance to ensure worker safety. Additionally, the stability and load-bearing capacity of suspension scaffolding must be carefully designed and calculated.

Scaffolding Coupler Plates

Scaffolding clips are a new type of scaffolding material, typically made of high-strength aluminum alloy. These clips can be assembled into various shapes, such as interlocking bridge structures and work platforms, through connecting devices. Compared to traditional scaffolding, scaffolding clips offer a lighter weight, faster assembly, and superior corrosion resistance. Additionally, the hook-connector design ensures greater stability and security, providing a safer working environment.
