Foam Concrete On-Site Pouring Precautions

As a new type of energy-saving and environmentally friendly building material, extensive research and development have been conducted on foam concrete by many scholars, leading to its widespread application in wall materials.


Advantages include low density, lightweight, thermal insulation, soundproofing, and seismic resistance. Due to its ability to be poured on-site for ease of construction, it is widely used in construction. Wall material manufacturers share the following attention items regarding the pouring of lightweight concrete:


1. During the pouring process of the foam concrete insulation layer, it is essential to continuously observe and inspect the fluidity and stability of the foam concrete slurry, as well as control its wet density. Due to its excellent soundproofing properties, foam concrete is also a good material for sound insulation layers in building floors, highway sound barriers, and the upper levels of underground structures. As an inorganic material, foam concrete is non-combustible, offering excellent fire resistance. Its use in buildings can enhance the fire safety performance. Wet density is checked and tested on-site using an electronic scale and two glass buckets.


2. During the lightweight concrete insulation layer pouring process, control the pouring thickness and flatness. The lightweight soil construction is fast: simple machines can achieve automation, enabling a long-distance transportation of up to 800 meters, with a work volume of 150-300 M3 per workday.


3. The environmental temperature during construction should not be below 5°C. When the temperature falls below 5°C, appropriate warming measures should be taken (referring to solutions for the issue).


4. When the wind speed at the construction site exceeds 5 levels, construction should be halted or safety measures such as windbreaks should be implemented (referring to the solutions for the issue). Foam concrete is also a good soundproofing material, which can be used as a soundproofing layer in building floors, soundproof panels on highways, and the top floors of underground structures. Foam concrete is an inorganic material that does not burn, thus offering excellent fire resistance. Its use in buildings can enhance the fire performance of the structures.


5. Insulation layer of foamed concrete should be sampled and inspected during the casting process, and testing specimens should be prepared for detection.
