The internal structure of the air water heater mainly consists of four core components: the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator.
The process works as follows: The compressor compresses the return low-pressure refrigerant, which then enters a high-pressure, high-temperature gas discharge. The high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas flows through copper tubes wrapped around the outside of the water tank, transferring heat through the tubes to the water tank. The refrigerant cools under continuous pressure and becomes liquid, entering the evaporator through an expansion valve. Due to the sudden drop in pressure in the evaporator, the liquid refrigerant rapidly evaporates into a gas, absorbing a large amount of heat. Simultaneously, driven by the fan, a large volume of air flows over the evaporator surface, absorbing energy from the air. The air temperature rapidly drops and is released as cooler air. Then, the refrigerant, having absorbed a certain amount of energy, returns to the compressor to start the cycle anew.
The working principle of an air-source heat pump water heater is similar to that of an air conditioner, utilizing the reverse Carnot principle. It absorbs a large amount of low-temperature heat energy from the air, compresses it into high-temperature heat energy by the compressor, and then transfers it to the water tank to heat the water. The entire process is a transfer of energy (from the air to the water) rather than a conversion process, as it does not heat the water through electric heating elements or by burning combustible gases.
