Basic Uses of Rivet Nuts

The basic uses of rivet nuts are the same as those of stainless steel rivet nuts.

But it is primarily used for non-structural bolted connections, such as for rail and road passenger vehicles, and ship interior components. The improved anti-rotation rivet nuts are superior to aircraft deck nuts, with the advantages of being lighter in weight, not requiring pre-rivet fixing of the deck nuts, and no operational space on the back of the base material.

Over-tightening stainless steel rivet nuts can cause rust at the joints, making them difficult to disassemble.

When recommending to tighten a nut, first hand-tighten it until you reach the head, then use a wrench to turn it half a turn to one full turn.

During the installation of car tires, the screws should not be tightened too much, as this can deform the screws and affect their holding power. The tension of each screw on the same tire should also be even, with no individual screws being overly tight, as this can affect tire performance and, in severe cases, may lead to screw breakage due to uneven force distribution.

When external installation of stainless steel rivets is required, with limited internal space that prevents the riveting machine's riveting head from accessing to perform riveting and sprue operations, it is impossible to achieve the required strength with riveting and expanding rivets.

The stainless steel rivet can be fixed singly on the rivet or connect two rivets together, serving both as a rivet and a nut; it is also suitable for workpieces that can only be fixed singly on a fixed shape.

Additionally, for lightweight metalwork components requiring threaded connections, stainless steel rivet nuts are a compact and convenient type of screw sleeve. Since stainless steel rivet nuts deform under axial pressure applied at both ends, they exhibit superior stress conditions compared to胀形 shapes applied with radial pressure on simple-shaped parts or pipes.

After riveting, the length of the stainless steel rivet nut is shortened, and its shrinkage hole is related to the material's plasticity and dimensions. To prevent cracking due to overstretching beyond the allowable limit, the amount of shrinkage must be controlled.
