Mold shrinkage issue
We specialize in IMD molds, as the surface of the mold products needs to be covered with a PET film. Generally, the shrinkage rate of ABS and PMMA is 0.5%, indicating that their thermal shrinkage rates differ.
IMD molds have a smaller shrinkage compared to general molds, with 0.3% being a suitable figure.
Section Two: Sheet Material Issues
The key to success and failure of IMD molds is the sheet material, which is also a complex issue; it requires careful attention during use.
Section 3: Key Points for IMD Mold Design of Sheet Material Molding
When using product images, position the product surface inward based on the thickness of the sheet material to obtain a 3D view of the sheet.
b. Based on the 3D diagram of the sheet material, unfold it to create die cutters, films, and other materials for the sheet material.
c. Mold based on 3D drawings of sheet materials.
