1. During the slitting process of double-sided tape, improper adjustment of the slitting blade or dull blade edges can cause cracks to appear on the face or back paper of the tape. The fibers pulled out at the crack are then adhered by the adhesive.

2. The occurrence of cracks in double-sided tape can be either continuous or random, and may appear on one side or both sides of the roll. Therefore, it is essential to carefully inspect the back and face papers for any small cracks before the double-sided tape is processed on the machine.
3. Take a sample paper that has been checked as per the above, peel off the backing paper to re-inspect for any cracks on both the face and backing papers. Sometimes, cracks in double-sided tape can be very small, only noticeable when the face and backing papers are separated.
