1. Inspect the foam double-sided adhesive for frayed edges
The edge of the roll of double-sided tape must be smooth and undamaged, as it is the foundation for ensuring the quality of double-sided tape. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully inspect the cutting edges of the roll of double-sided tape before processing for any frayed edges or damage due to improper storage and transportation. Additionally, unwind 4-5 coils of the roll and check the cutting edges meticulously.
Foam Double-Sided Adhesive
Check for any cracks on the double-sided tape.
During the slitting process of double-sided tape, improper adjustment of the slitting blade or dull blades can cause cracks to appear on the face or back paper of the tape. The fibers pulled out at the crack are then adhered by the adhesive.
Cracking can occur either continuously or randomly, possibly appearing on one side or both sides of the roll of double-sided tape. Therefore, it is crucial to inspect the backing and face papers for any small cracks before the tape undergoes machine processing.
Then, take a sample paper that has been checked as described above, peel it off the backing paper and inspect the face and backing papers for any cracks, as cracks can sometimes be very small and only visible when the face and backing papers are separated.
3. Inspect the edge adhesion of the double-sided tape and check if the back paper is properly coated with silicone.
Bubble gum double-sided tape may exhibit edge adhesion or certain areas of the backing paper may lack silicone oil coating, which can cause the face paper to break during the waste removal process, resulting in inability to produce normally. Therefore, before processing, it is necessary to take a piece of about 1-meter-long dry adhesive material, peel it by hand, and inspect if there are any parts that cannot be peeled smoothly and consistently.
通常, the edge adhesion between tissue paper and back paper occurs on a single cut roll of coated adhesive material, usually in the outer 7 to 10 meters. Therefore, when encountering adhesive tape edges sticking together on a cut roll, do not immediately conclude that the entire roll has this issue.
