How is a CNC龙门mill processed?

When the gantry milling machine is up milling, the milling width should be approximately equal to 2/3 of the milling cutter diameter, ensuring that the blade can immediately cut into the workpiece without resistance. If it is less than 1/2 of the cutter diameter, the blade will start to rub against the workpiece, as the cutting thickness decreases during the cut, and the feed per tooth will also decrease due to the narrowing of the radial cutting width. The rubbing results in a shorter tool life. For carbide tools, increasing the feed per tooth and reducing the cutting depth is more beneficial. Therefore, during rough milling, if the radial cutting width is less than the cutter radius, increasing the cutting speed will improve the tool life, thereby shortening the processing time of the gantry milling machine. Of course, fine milling requires a smooth workpiece surface, so the cutting speed should be limited.
