How should we choose rock wool sandwich panels?

1. Tap the surface of the colored steel plate on the rock wool sandwich panel with your fingers or a hard object. If the sound is muffled and the metallic feel is not prominent, be aware that this rock wool sandwich panel may be of poor quality. The sound of a higher-quality colored steel plate is usually louder and clearer.

2. Whenever possible, conduct a physical visit to the core board manufacturer. Observe the company's environment and whether it operates legally. Check for professional testing institution reports and ensure the results are satisfactory. Inquire about the company's reputation in the market. Choose core board products that meet national industry standards, produced by qualified and reputable firms.

The exterior of rock wool sandwich panels should be flat and smooth, without any occurrence of wrinkling, cracking, or peeling.

4. Inspect the exposed areas of rock wool sandwich panels. When we receive a sandwich panel, first observe the exposed steel of the color steel plate, such as the cross-section, to see if it is finely crystalline, whether it appears gray or dark, and whether there are impurities. If the cross-section is finely crystalline, it indicates a higher quality.

5. Rock wool sandwich panels are composed of a base sheet and rock wool. Firstly, we need to consider the density of the base sheet and rock wool. The commonly used color steel base sheet thickness ranges from 0.2 to 0.5mm, with the rock wool density typically being 80 to 130 kg/m³. Generally, a density of 80kg is more common due to cost and varying requirements, but rock wool with a density of 100kg or more offers excellent waterproof and fire-resistant properties.
