According to the overall deformation characteristics of the material, the stamping process is divided into two main categories:

1. The separation process: Under the action of external forces, the stress in the deformed part exceeds the material's strength limit, causing the sheet material to fracture and separate.

In the plastic deformation process, the board material, under the action of external force, the stress in the deformed area exceeds the yield limit of the material but does not reach the ultimate strength limit, resulting in only plastic deformation and achieving a certain shape and size.

Section III: Five Types of Stamping Processes

1. Stereoscopic Compression: Redistributes volume and transfers materials to alter the shape or height/thickness of the billet.

2. Bending: Converts flat sheet material into curved components, allowing for further modification of the shape. Includes bending, rolled edges, and twist deformations.

3. Rolling: To shape flat billets into hollow sections of required shapes, or to further alter the dimensions of hollow sections.

4. Shaping: Modify the shape of the workpiece or billet through various types of local deformation. Shaping deformation includes undulating shaping, flanging, necking, bulging, rolling, and整形.

5. Cutting, Punching: This involves separating parts of the material from another part, either not sealed or unsealed. Methods under this category include blanking, punching holes, trimming edges, cutting off, sectioning, and切口.
