In our daily lives, casters play a significant role, being widely used in industries, supermarkets, and even in homes. They are primarily categorized into synthetic rubber casters, polyurethane casters, plastic casters, nylon casters, steel casters, high-temperature-resistant casters, rubber casters, and S-shaped synthetic rubber casters. Different casters have varying materials and formulations, and even the same model can have different materials and formulations if the color differs. The wide variety of caster materials has left a significant gap for some merchants, leading to the substitution of materials and the excessive use of low-quality materials, which has completely disrupted the market. Below, we briefly introduce several identification methods for common caster materials.

Polyurethane (PU): Flammable, emits a faint white smoke when burned, melts easily, has no odor, and leaves sticky threads.

2. PVC: Flammable; emits dense black smoke when burned, with an unpleasant odor; does not produce sticky threads; the surface becomes black carbon powder after combustion.

3. Nylon Wheels (PA): Flame-resistant; emits a burning hair-like odor when burned; upon combustion, the surface shows bubble-like formations and sticky threads.

4. High-Temperature Nylon (PA): Burns similarly to PA material, but leaves a white powdery residue upon combustion.

5. Polypropylene (PP): Flammable with a slight plastic odor, it melts evenly on burning with a sticky, filamentous appearance.

6. TPR: The TPR has a heavier burning smell and produces more and thicker smoke.

The diversity of caster materials and product variations has presented a significant challenge in material identification. However, with careful understanding and analysis, you are sure to gain insights. Similarly, you can also distinguish between genuine and counterfeit caster materials.
