Die Cutting Runout refers to the displacement of the die-cut piece relative to the positioning gauge when conditions change during the die-cutting process, resulting in inaccurate die-cut indentation positions.
Common Causes and Solutions:
1. The die-cut plate was not securely fixed in the die frame, causing it to shift during the die-cutting process, resulting in inaccurate die-cutting indentation positions; the solution is to re-align and securely fasten the die-cut plate, and re-position the die-cut guidelines.
2. The registration of die-cutting is not aligned with the registration of printing, resulting in inconsistent locations of the board's gripper. It is required to align the printing and die-cutting registration.
3. During the die-cutting process, cardboard deformation or expansion can cause inaccuracies in the alignment; selecting appropriate materials and maintaining a stable environmental humidity can minimize the impact of the material itself on die-cutting precision to a low degree.
4. In the die-cutting operation, the feeding paper position is inconsistent. The solution is to adjust the die-cutting feeding paper alignment to ensure consistent paper feeding.
The elastic die-cutting strips on the die-cutting plate are too close to the die-cutting knife during bonding, and they are not symmetrically adhered on both sides of the knife, causing the strips to generate lateral force when compressed, which shifts the paper and affects the die-cutting positioning accuracy. The solution is to choose a reasonable bonding position, with the elastic die-cutting strips placed approximately 1-1.5mm away from the die-cutting knife. Symmetrical bonding is required, which can effectively prevent paper shifting during the die-cutting process.
Above, we have answered the main reasons and solutions for the deviation of flat die cutting and creasing. In the actual production process, many unforeseen causes may arise as well. It is recommended to address these issues according to the specific production circumstances.
