During the strip cutting process on the strip cutter equipment, due to various adverse factors, steel belts may experience deformation, with a common occurrence being lateral bending. There are numerous factors that can lead to this issue, such as wood warping. For instance, during the rolling process, the wood accumulates internal stress, which becomes potential residual stress. After the strip cutter cuts the wood, the stress balance is lost, resulting in bending.

It could be due to bending during the shearing process of the strip steel on the slitting machine, caused by noticeable burrs or uneven burrs on both sides. For instance, during the coiling process, due to the burr side and the side with larger burrs having a thicker plate, a larger coil diameter results in a bellows-like formation with bending extending to the edges. In such cases, a sheet of appropriate thickness should be inserted on the opposite side or a cut should be made.

In addition, it may be due to the uneven edges of the steel strip, which exhibit a wavy pattern. This can cause variations in edge thickness, leading to blade extension, or it may result from blade side sintering and improper contact between blades in the slitting machine, causing the blade sides to become rough and producing a wavy edge on the steel strip. Specific countermeasures include increasing the horizontal gap to reduce lateral pressure and selecting blades suitable for the material being cut.

During the strip-cutting process, issues with horizontal creases on the steel strip may arise. In such cases, the first possibility is that the creases are caused by the strip being rolled into by the blades. For instance, when cutting very narrow steel strips on the strip-cutting machine, the creases may occur due to the finger-shaped pressure plate not filling the gap between the two outer blades, causing the strip to be rolled into by the two outer blade edges. Additionally, the creases could be due to the clamping mouth of the winding reel creating creases, as the steel strip is not tightly adhered to the winding machine during winding, and creases form during the continued winding in this expanded state.

During the operation of the strip cutting equipment, it may be discovered that there are noticeable knife marks on the strip products. This is likely caused by knife marks from the pressure plate, which is due to the inconsistent height between the pressure plate and the through plate, leading to excessive pressure on the steel belt. Alternatively, the knife marks may be caused by the up and down movement of the pressure plate on the cutting tool.
