Water softening equipment is a commonly used type, as the name implies, it is designed to reduce the hardness of water. Primarily, it removes calcium and magnesium ions from water, essentially lowering its hardness. Its main functions include removing calcium and magnesium ions, activating water quality, sterilizing and algae control, and preventing and removing scale. It can be widely applied to the softening of make-up water in systems such as steam boilers, hot water boilers, exchangers, evaporative condensers, air conditioners, and direct combustion engines. So, how should water softening treatment equipment be maintained?

Ensure stable input voltage and current to prevent damage to electrical control devices. External seals should be installed on electrical control devices to prevent dampness and immersion.

2. Regularly add solid granulated salt to the salt box (never use refined salt or iodized salt), ensuring the salt solution inside the box is supersaturated. Be cautious not to spill the solid granulated salt into the salt well to prevent the formation of salt bridges on the salt valve, which could block the salt intake lines. Since solid granulated salt contains a certain amount of impurities, a large quantity can settle at the bottom of the salt box, blocking the salt valve. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean the impurities at the bottom of the salt box. To clean, open the drain valve at the bottom of the salt box and flush with clean water until no impurities are discharged. The cleaning cycle of the salt box should be determined based on the impurity content of the solid granulated salt.

Regularly inspect the aeration jet and saltwater pipeline for air tightness to prevent gas leakage that may affect regeneration efficiency.

4. Annually, the water softener should be disassembled for cleaning, removing debris from the upper and lower distributors, and the quartz sand bed, as well as checking the resin's wear and exchange capacity. Replace severely aged resin, and for iron-poisoned resin, use hydrochloric acid solution for revival.

5. When not in use, the ion exchange unit should be soaked in saltwater to ensure the resin temperature remains between 1-45 degrees Celsius, preventing dehydration.

6. Ensure water is not contaminated, particularly with iron ions, as they should not enter the resin tank. Resins are sensitive to iron ions.

Ensure there will not be too much silt and impurities in the water. Too many impurities in the water are harmful to the control valve, shortening its lifespan.
