Factors Affecting Airflow in Clean Rooms

Many factors affect the air flow in cleanrooms, including process equipment, personnel, assembly materials for the cleanroom, lighting fixtures, etc. Additionally, the分流points above production equipment should also be considered.

Airflow分流 points on general operation desks or production equipment surfaces should be located at two-thirds of the distance between the cleanroom space and partition panels. This allows the air to flow from the process area inward towards the work area, carrying away fine dust; if the分流 points are positioned in front of the process area, it will result in improper airflow distribution, with most of the air flowing past the process area. Dust generated by the operator's actions will be carried to the back of the equipment, causing contamination of the workbench and inevitably reducing the yield.

Workbenches and other obstructions within cleanrooms tend to generate vortices at their junctions, which correspondingly result in reduced cleanliness levels nearby. Drilling exhaust holes on the work surface can help minimize vortices. The selection of assembly materials and the layout of equipment are also significant factors in determining whether air currents become vortex phenomena.

The fan draws air from the top of the FFU, which is then filtered through a pre-effect filter. The filtered clean air is uniformly distributed across the entire air outlet surface at a velocity of 0.45 m/s ± 20% into the clean room. This creates a uniform airflow layer, ensuring a vertical unidirectional airflow of clean air, thereby guaranteeing the required cleanliness level in the work area.
