How to Save Money and Stay Warm with格力Air Conditioners in Winter?
1. Heat Generation Principle of Air Conditioners
Primarily, the outdoor unit absorbs heat from the air, which is then transferred through a refrigerant cycle within the pipes to the indoor unit. The indoor unit then distributes this heat to the room, raising the indoor temperature.
After 15-20 minutes of operation, measure the temperature at a distance of 10-20mm from the indoor air intake and exhaust vents using the thermometer probe. The temperature difference between the intake and exhaust vents in the heating mode should be no less than 15℃.
2. Defrosting of Air Conditioners
During the heating process, the indoor unit of the air conditioner stops blowing air for a period of time before automatically restarting, which is a normal defrosting process for the air conditioner. The indoor unit will cease operation during defrosting and resume once completed. Due to the sustained low temperatures, frequent defrosting may occur when the outdoor temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius. Typically, the air conditioner defrosts about every 45 minutes, with each defrosting session lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. The air conditioner's display will show the "H1" code or a "?" symbol, both of which are normal occurrences.
3. Wind Chill Protection Feature
Many people are puzzled by why it takes a while for warm air to come out when the air conditioner is heating up. This is mainly due to our machine's humanized design, which includes a cold wind prevention feature. When heating, the accumulation and increase of heat take a process. If warm air comes out immediately after turning on, it would be cold wind, and in the already cold winter, being suddenly exposed to cold wind upon startup could easily lead to catching a cold. Generally, it takes about 3-5 minutes for the warm air to start blowing under normal circumstances, and the specific time depends on the current outdoor temperature. If the outdoor temperature is low, the time is longer; if it's high, the time is shorter.
4. The air conditioner works effectively only when the wind blows downwards in winter.
Due to the rising of warm air, during the heating mode in winter, the air conditioner's air guide plate should be positioned downwards to allow the warm air to blow out from the outlet downward, thereby achieving faster heating in the room.
5. Turn on the "Electric Heating" feature during cold weather
When the outdoor temperature falls below -5 degrees Celsius, the heat exchange temperature difference between the condenser and the outdoor air approaches zero. Standard air conditioners lose their heat exchange effectiveness, leading to poor overall heating performance, and in some cases, a complete inability to heat. At this point, it's necessary to activate the air conditioner's auxiliary heating: press the auxiliary heating button on the remote control. If the remote displays "Auxiliary Heating On," it indicates that auxiliary heating is active. Press it again to turn it off.
Air conditioners are becoming increasingly common in our lives, so choosing a reliable one is extremely important. Gree Air Conditioners have always offered great value for money, and homeowners who have used them have praised them highly.
