Improper storage of vacuum pump oil can lead to spoilage, which in turn accelerates the wear of pump components, affects the lifespan, and even causes safety accidents. Therefore, today we will discuss the storage methods for vacuum pump oil:
The oil filling windows must be kept clean and free from direct sunlight and outdoor storage. They should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, strictly preventing the mixture of moisture and dust.
2. When extracting or filling oil, ensure all small rain around the bucket lid is removed to prevent debris from contaminating the oil, which can cause pump wear.
3. Do not mix vacuum pump oils of different brands or varieties, and do not mix new and old oil products.
4. Strictly avoid mixing vacuum oil with other lubricants, and never mix it with light oil products, as this will affect the vacuum performance.
5. Vacuum pumps should avoid extracting solvents, steam, and corrosive gases as much as possible. When necessary, they must be regularly inspected and oiled.
6. When changing the vacuum pump oil, discharge the used oil from the pump body, then pour in the new oil and slowly rotate the pump shaft. Clean the pump cavity to remove residual oil by repeating this process several times, and finally replace it with fresh oil after it is thoroughly cleaned.
During the major overhaul of a vacuum pump, it is essential to clean all pump components thoroughly with solvents or cleaning agents and then dry them.
8. Fueling equipment must be dedicated and should not be used for other oil or solvent containers; pumps.
When switching from mineral oil to ester oil or other synthetic oils, the pump should be disassembled for a thorough cleaning. All components must be soaked in ester oil to prevent contamination.
If chemical gases and solvents are inhaled into the vacuum pump and contaminate the oil, causing a loss of vacuum, it is necessary to clean and change the oil.
