PC engineering plastic material is actually one of the types of engineering plastics we refer to. PC has its own characteristics and advantages/disadvantages. It is a non-crystalline thermoplastic resin with excellent comprehensive performance, featuring superior electrical insulation, extensibility, dimensional stability, and resistance to chemical corrosion. It boasts high strength, heat resistance, and cold resistance; it is also self-extinguishing, flame-retardant, non-toxic, and colorable. The characteristics of PC engineering plastic raw materials include:
Amorphous material with good thermal stability, wide molding temperature range, and poor fluidity. Low moisture absorption but sensitive to water, requiring drying treatment. Low molding shrinkage, prone to melting cracks and stress concentration, thus strict control of molding conditions is necessary, and the molded parts must undergo annealing treatment.
2. High melting temperature and viscosity; for plastic parts over 200g, heated extension nozzles are recommended.
3. Poor plastic fluidity calls for a coarse and short mold gating system, ideally with a cold runner, large gate, and heated mold.
4. Low material temperature can cause insufficient material, resulting in dull plastic parts. High material temperature is prone to overflow and bubbling on the plastic parts. At low mold temperatures, shrinkage and elongation are minimal, and impact resistance, as well as bending, compressive, and tensile strengths, are low. When the mold temperature exceeds 120 degrees, the plastic parts cool slowly, are prone to deformation, and stick to the mold.
