Warehouse Rack Maintenance and Care Measures: When goods are stored on warehouse racks, it is not only crucial to ensure the appearance integrity of the goods themselves, but also to consider the sealing performance of the storage space for certain special items, i.e., the space must be sealed. Sealing involves using materials with poor thermal conductivity, good moisture resistance, and low breathability to tightly seal the stored items as much as possible, in order to avoid and mitigate the adverse effects of the external environment, achieving the goal of safe storage of goods.
Sealing is a fundamental measure in warehouse temperature and humidity management. Sealed warehouse shelves can maintain a relatively stable temperature and humidity level. If sealing is appropriately applied according to the characteristics of stored items, it can achieve excellent results in moisture-proofing, mold prevention, melting resistance, heat resistance, frost prevention, crack resistance, insect-proofing, and anti-corrosion. The basic function of sealing is to retain moisture and heat.
Warehouse racking is generally one-time equipment, with an expected lifespan of at least 15 years. However, it is important to maintain the storage racks. Here are the maintenance measures for warehouse racking:
Regulate the shelf usage system for different warehouses and products, each with its own usage methods. Warehouse managers must establish a shelf usage regulation, ensuring that every user can learn and adhere to it, to guarantee the safety, full utilization, and longevity of the shelves.
2. Although the columns and beams of the moisture-proof and sun-resistant warehouse shelves are both painted metal products, they may rust when exposed to a humid environment, affecting their service life. The shelves are mainly made of wood, and the openings near the windows are prone to get wet with rain, causing the wood to warp and buckle after the rain.
3. Designed and manufactured storage racks of various sizes based on their carrying capacity, ensuring that the weight of goods placed on the racks falls within the load-bearing limit. Warehouse managers should clearly mark the load capacity on the racks and adhere to the principle of lighter weight at the bottom, heavier at the top for the shelves.
4. It is mandatory for a designated person to use trolleys, especially in heavy-duty and high-level rack warehouses, where powered trolleys should be provided. Forklift operation is strictly permitted only by certified personnel. Most of the deformation in shelf posts is caused by the individuals using the push rods. Additionally, the beam openings in the warehouse racks are customarily painted yellow and in colors, making it easier for pushers to identify.
