Planetary gear reducer bearings can be used continuously under normal installation and lubrication maintenance until the working surface of the bearing is subjected to material spalling due to fatigue, which is essentially the end of the calculated bearing life. In some cases, they can even exceed the calculated life by several multiples.
In actual use, roller bearings often fail prematurely, with premature failure stemming from manufacturing defects in the bearings and poor bearing materials. However, more often than not, it is due to improper use, maintenance, and lubrication. Identifying the cause of bearing failure is quite challenging. A slightly damaged bearing can be analyzed for its failure cause by examining the bearing's usage, particularly the wear condition and wear patterns on the working surface.
Failure Analysis:
Utilizing SKF's P4 and MA software for spectral analysis.
2. Analysis of bearing marks such as oil loss, misalignment, moisture corrosion, current corrosion, and蠕动 phenomena; can deduce the causes of bearing failure.
3. The lubrication system of bearings, the intrusion of debris, and the color change of the original lubricant.
4. Failure of bearings generally can be considered from several aspects: fatigue, wear, (fit) deformation, and assembly factors.
5. Leverage personal experience, but ensure it aligns with real-world situations; avoid jumping to conclusions without confirmation.
