When riveting, we encounter issues with core rivet breakage. What factors lead to core rivet breakage? Next, the editor will help you analyze.
Core rivet pulled through: The rivet mandrel is pulled out of the rivet body, with the mandrel fracture not cracked, creating a穿透 cavity inside the rivet body after the riveting.
Reason: Excessive pull force from the rivet gun; too small diameter of the rivet core cap; excessively soft riveting material; excessively smooth surface of the riveting body's inner hole.
2.钉芯 exterior surface burrs: After riveting, the burrs from the broken core pierce through the rivet body hole; the end of the internal hole in the rivet body protrudes, causing the burrs to scrape.
Reason: Small diameter of nail core; too soft rivet material; oversized diameter of product workpiece punch holes; excessively large rivet gun nozzle size; excessive gap between nail core fracture and nail core head, exceeding the actual riveting thickness.
3. Core Rivet Head Detachment: After riveting, the core head cannot be wrapped and detaches from the rivet body.
Reason: The diameter of the nail core cap is too large; the rivet body is too short, not conforming to the rivet thickness.
4. Core Rivet Body Fracture: After using a rivet gun to pull rivet, the rivet body exhibits a crack or a complete split.
Reason: Overly high strength after rivet body cooling or lack of heat treatment; rivet mandrel diameter specification too large; excessive harmful impurities or separators in the rivet body material.
The above outlines the four common phenomena of core pull rivet breakage during riveting, along with the corresponding cause analysis, followed by countermeasures based on these causes.
