What are the performance advantages of Sanitary Butterfly Valves?

Sanitary butterfly valves are used in the production and processing of food, beverages, and other products, differing primarily in material from standard butterfly valves.

Strength Performance: The strength performance of a sanitary valve refers to its ability to withstand medium pressure. Valves are mechanical products that bear internal pressure, thus they must possess adequate strength and rigidity to ensure long-term use without bursting or deforming.

Seal Performance: The seal performance of a valve refers to its ability to prevent the leakage of media at all sealing points, which is a crucial technical performance indicator. There are three sealing points on a valve: the contact area between the moving part and the sealing surface of the valve seat; the fitting area between the stuffing and the valve stem and stuffing box; and the connection area between the valve body and the valve cover. Leakage at the first point is called internal leakage, or commonly known as being unable to close properly, which will affect the valve's ability to cutoff media.

Internal leakage is not permitted for cutoff valves. The leaks at the last two locations are called external leakage, where the medium escapes from the valve to the outside. External leakage can lead to material loss, environmental pollution, and even accidents in severe cases. For flammable, explosive, toxic, or radioactive mediums, external leakage is absolutely unacceptable, thus valves must possess reliable sealing performance.

The opening and closing speed is indicated by the time required for a valve to complete an opening or closing action. Generally, there are no strict requirements for the opening and closing speed of valves, but some operating conditions have special requirements for the speed, such as the need for rapid opening or closing to prevent accidents, or slow closing to prevent water hammer, etc. These factors should be considered when selecting the type of valve.

Agility and Reliability: This refers to the sensitivity of valves in responding to changes in medium parameters. For valves such as throttle valves, pressure-reducing valves, and regulating valves, which are used to adjust medium parameters, as well as for valves with specific functions like safety valves and drain valves, the functional sensitivity and reliability are crucial technical performance indicators.
