Warehouse racking is widely used in modern enterprises, but many people only know how to use it, not how to protect it and extend its lifespan. Here, the editor brings you some daily maintenance methods for warehouse racking.
Storage shelves require our attention to moisture-proofing in humid weather, cleaning, and anti-corrosion in normal temperatures. Here are a few suggestions from the editor:
Maintain cleanliness of storage shelves.
Cleanliness is crucial for shelves, as regular cleaning can extend their lifespan. Shelf cleaning doesn't always require water washing; as long as there's no dust, it's fine. Moreover, using water to rinse shelves can easily cause surface oxidation, significantly shortening their lifespan.
2. Placement of Storage Racks
Tools, accessories, and workpieces (products) should be arranged neatly, and pipes and wiring should be organized to avoid blocking pathways. Additionally, well-organized shelves are less prone to collisions, enhancing the safety of both the shelves and the goods.
Adhere to the principle of heavier items on the bottom and lighter ones on top of the shelves.
Products on the shelves must not exceed the shelf's load-bearing capacity. The warehouse manager should clearly mark the load limit on the shelves.
4. Prevent excessive sunlight exposure and moisture protection
Properly ventilate the shelves to prevent damp goods from being placed on them, and try to drain and dehumidify as much as possible.
