Regular maintenance and care of air-source heat pumps are essential to ensure the normal operation of the units and a safe, comfortable user experience. There are many aspects to maintaining an air-source heat pump, and the following are key points that should not be overlooked.

Maintain regular cleaning frequency

Long-term and frequent use of an air energy water heater's tank can lead to a buildup of large amounts of impurities, bacteria, and microorganisms, eventually forming scale that is difficult to remove. This not only affects heating efficiency but also corrodes the tank, shortening the lifespan of the air energy water heater. To inhibit scale growth, users should clean the tank at least once every six months, remove the scale, and replace the magnesium rod in a timely manner.

Regular inspections and maintenance

Regularly inspect the power usage of the air-source heat pump water heater, check for loose outlets, and maintain a dry outlet location; observe the heating efficiency of the unit, and promptly notify a professional for on-site repair if any issues are detected, to ensure the safe operation of the air-source heat pump water heater.

Regular pressure relief and drainage

The pressure-temperature safety valve, also known as a relief valve, ensures the safety of the unit in case the air energy water heater fails to protect against overheating or if the water pressure is too high. It prevents the water temperature from rising too high or the tank from bursting. Typically, the handle of the PT valve should be pulled every three months or six months to ensure the valve can properly relieve pressure.

Keep the area around dry.

Users should ensure the installation location of an air-source heat pump water heater is dry and well-ventilated. If the unit is exposed to a humid environment for an extended period, it may lead to a decrease in the water heater's insulation performance or circuit short-circuit failures, directly affecting the unit's lifespan. If the air-source heat pump water heater is not in use for an extended period, users should drain the water from the unit's piping system, disconnect the power supply, and cover it with a protective cover.
