Image measurement systems capture images of workpieces using image measurement heads. By applying digital image processing techniques, they extract coordinate points on the surfaces of various complex-shaped workpieces. The system then utilizes coordinate transformation and data processing techniques to convert these points into various geometric elements in the coordinate measurement space, thereby calculating the actual dimensions, shapes, and mutual positional relationships of the measured workpieces.

For flat measurements: The scanning of the image measuring instrument provides more data points for evaluating shape errors and arranging workpieces, and it takes significantly less time than the traditional point-to-point method. The result is an increased assembly accuracy of the image measuring instrument, which is reflected in the overall improvement of measurement precision.

Measurement of Holes: The high-speed scanning of image measurement devices allows for the acquisition of a large number of data points within seconds, making it possible to fully describe hole features such as size, position, and shape. This ensures high accuracy and repeatability. Additionally, image measurement devices can simulate the sizes of plug gauges and ring gauges, providing reliable calculations for large-diameter workpieces that are compatible with the image measurement device.

Image Measuring Instruments for Cylinder Measurement: By collecting a large number of data points at each measurement cross-section, image measuring instruments can accurately determine the shape and axis of cylinders. Additionally, they can evaluate critical size and shape features, such as large and small feature dimensions, to support fitting analysis of the workpieces.
