Fuses holders are designed for installing fuses and can be broadly categorized into: panel mount fuse holders, PCB mount fuse holders, leaded fuse holders, rail mount fuse holders, and automotive fuse holders (mainly referring to plug-in and bolt-type fuses).

Common Types of Fuses Holders:

1. By installation type

The main types are the fuse holder and the fuse blade holder. As the name suggests, the fuse holder is a tubular fuse holder, primarily installed vertically. The fuse blade holder, on the other hand, is installed in a surface-mounted manner.

2. Categorized by fuse size

Tube fuse holders commonly used with tube fuses are typically 10.The fuse holders for automotive fuse blades are categorized into three sizes: large, medium, and small.

The amperage required for different electrical appliances varies, and using fuses of incorrect sizes can provide varying degrees of current interruption. Different specifications naturally result in varying fuse sizes, which is why we have the three types of fuse holders mentioned above.

3. By material type

There are two types commonly used in our daily operations: plastic fuse holders and bakelite fuse holders. As the names suggest, these holders are made from different materials and are used in various scenarios.

Fuse holder function:

1. Protective Function

The primary function of a fuse holder is its protective role, which comes into play when safeguarding electrical appliances and fuses. Generally, fuses are designed with a rated current higher than the normal operating current of the appliances, and they also possess a certain overload capacity. However, if the current surplus is too great, it can override the fuse's protective function. That's when the fuse holder steps in to fulfill its protective role, acting as a fuse.

2. Load-bearing capabilities

At the outset, we mentioned that a fuse holder is an accessory used for placing fuses. Placing various fuses in a specific order within the fuse holder ensures that the function of each fuse is not disrupted. Moreover, as a dedicated space for fuses, it greatly facilitates the identification and repair of subsequent issues. Therefore, we can say that the fuse holder serves a load-bearing function and is convenient for future use and maintenance.
