Saluting Glory: Embracing the Power and Peaceful Responsibility of Our Motherland in the Grand Parade

September 3, 2025, Tiananmen Square was draped in banners and exuded grandeur as a grand military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II was held there. This was not only a heartfelt tribute to the history of the blood-soaked battles but also a solemn showcase of China's strength today. Every scene stirred the heart, and every moment was filled with national pride.

To ensure the parade is presented flawlessly, all preparations are proceeding smoothly and diligently. On June 24, 2025, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to officially introduce the overall arrangement of the commemorative event. When the news of the grand military parade on September 3rd at Tiananmen Square was released, countless people were filled with anticipation. Subsequently, from August 9th to 10th and August 16th to 17th, the September 3rd parade completed two comprehensive rehearsals, each one honing the details and each one a relentless pursuit of perfection. On August 20th, the State Council Information Office held another press conference to provide a detailed introduction of the parade preparations: This parade meticulously arranged 45 formations (steps), conducted in two steps of the parade and the divisional parade, with a total duration of approximately 70 minutes. In the divisional parade, the aerial flag-guard formation took the lead, with the bright red flags shining brightly against the blue sky; followed by the marching formations, stepping with strong, resolute strides across the square, each step solid and resounding, showcasing the soldiers' spirited determination; the banner formation carried the glory of history, each banner witnessing past brilliance and sacrifice; the equipment formation followed, the tide of armor rolling forward, demonstrating the hard power of technology; and the aerial formation soared by, the fighter jet formations leaving dazzling trails in the sky, adding a vivid touch to the parade.

During the parade, the participating equipment was a focal point of attention, all of which are domestically produced and currently in active service. This detail reflects the rapid development of China's industry and a significant enhancement in independent innovation capabilities. In addition to showcasing the new generation of traditional weapons, the parade also featured some new combat forces such as unmanned intelligence, underwater combat, cyber-electric offense and defense, and hypersonic capabilities. These advanced equipment are not only the crystallization of technology but also a direct reflection of China's strong ability to adapt to technological development, the evolution of warfare, and win future wars. As we witness these "national treasures" arrayed in order and exuding formidable presence, we profoundly feel: The Chinese military is robust and formidable!

Eighty years ago, countless heroes sacrificing their blood and lives secured a great victory in the war of resistance, marking a turning point for the phoenix-like rebirth of the Chinese nation. Today, eighty years later, we honor history and our heroes with a grand parade, a tribute to the past. From the waving red flag over Tiananmen Square to classrooms in rural schools recounting stories of the war; from veterans' teary-eyed salutes to the youthful, vibrant promises of the young, we share the same belief in different ways: Remembering history is not to perpetuate hatred, but to safeguard peace; honoring the fallen is not to dwell on the past, but to forge a brighter future.

At this new historical starting point, gazing upon our powerful and majestic motherland, a sense of pride and belonging naturally arises within us. Let us all shout together: I love you, Motherland!
