Some cities prioritize decorative aspects over the inherent safety function of guardrails: for instance, certain cities opt for stainless steel guardrails, yet fail to pay attention to the optical design, resulting in light pollution and blinding effects, affecting visibility; some guardrail designs are irregular, with excessively tall guardrails that negatively impact the city's aesthetics.

Some guardrails lack vertical distance bars or have excessively wide spacing, making it easy for pedestrians to squeeze through, posing safety hazards; some guardrails are weak, and can be easily removed by hand, rendering them vulnerable to damage and ineffective; others have numerous welding points, with the base not receiving anti-corrosion surface treatment, only painted or dipped in plastic for surface treatment, resulting in low corrosion resistance, prone to rust, and a short service life.
