As people's living standards gradually improve, natural gas has emerged as a new type of fuel, gaining widespread use and recognition among the general public. However, due to its characteristics of being widely distributed, difficult to regulate, low safety factor, and challenging maintenance, the proper maintenance and management of gas equipment has become a crucial issue at hand. Since the reform and opening-up, the gas industry has developed rapidly under the guidance of energy-saving policies in our country. Nevertheless, due to its flammable, explosive, and toxic nature, any damage to facilities leading to leaks can result in explosions, fires, and poisoning. Moreover, there are still safety hazards associated with the use of gas. The maintenance and management of gas equipment remains a challenging and problematic area. Current factors affecting the maintenance and management of gas equipment include: 1) the continued existence of illegal occupation of gas equipment to varying degrees; 2) a lack of effective supervision during the construction process; 3) chaotic market operations for gas equipment, inadequate regulation, and severe illegal operation; and 4) inadequate legal frameworks, relatively outdated maintenance technology, and weak management capabilities. Therefore, the aim of strengthening the maintenance and management of gas equipment is to ensure its normal, orderly, and safe operation. Based on my own work experience, I would like to share some preliminary insights into the maintenance and management of gas equipment.
