Based on the recent and distant wastewater volumes, determine the scale of the rainwater and wastewater pumping stations. Design the pumping stations accordingly, selecting the integrated pumping station's cylinder specifications based on the flow rate. Determine the diameter of the cylinder needed to meet the requirements.

In a separated drainage system, the rainwater pump house and the wastewater pump house can be built at different locations within the courtyard, or combined within a single structure. However, the wastewater lifting pump, collection pond, and pipelines should form an independent system.

It is crucial to determine whether the integrated pumping station is to be constructed all at once or in phases, whether it is permanent or semi-permanent, to decide on its standards and facilities. Additionally, after the wastewater is lifted by the pumping station, the choice of the location for the wastewater pumping station depends on whether the treated water is discharged into a river channel or sent to a treatment plant.

When the sump and machinery room of an integrated pumping station are in the same structure, they must be separated by a waterproof partition to prevent leakage, with the construction method following the structural design specifications. The sump and machinery room in separate construction should maintain a certain distance to avoid uneven settlement, with the sump typically being circular and the machinery room square.
