During the development of oil terminal berths, modern large-scale oil terminal berths, especially those at unprotected pile-type terminals, have non-continuous berth surfaces and are elevated. Vessels experience frequent and significant pitching and movement during operations. Additionally, due to the large fender size, the distance from the ship's side to the shore line at the berth is considerable. This condition poses a challenge for the gangways carried by oil tankers. Therefore, to accelerate cargo handling and ensure the safety of personnel boarding and disembarking, replacing the ship's gangways with boarding ladders is an inevitable choice. The boarding ladder, akin to the tanker's loading arm, has become an indispensable large-scale operation equipment at oil terminal berths.
