Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate (MSP)

Alias: Sodium Phosphate Monobasic

Chemical Formula: NaH2PO4·nH2O (n=0, 2)

CAS NO.: 7558-80-7 (anhydrous), 13472-35-0 (dihydrate)

Properties:

Anhydrous sodium dihydrogen phosphate is a white powder with a melting point of 190°C; the dihydrate form is white granular crystals with a melting point of 57.40°C. Both are highly soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents, and hygroscopic in the air.

Purpose:

(1) Used in industrial applications for boiler water treatment, acidity buffer, detergents, baking powder production, mica sheet bonding, dye auxiliaries, leather making, electroplating, and more. Sodium dihydrogen phosphate is also a raw material for the production of acid hexametaphosphate; (2) In the food industry, it serves as a quality improver, pH regulator, buffer, emulsifying dispersant, nutritional supplement, and moisture retainer, among others. Primarily used in cheese, beverages, jelly, tomato sauce, luncheon meat, and meat preserves. It can also act as a modified starch additive. The addition amount in food processing is typically 3-5‰.

Packaging:

Standard packaging is 25kg/bag, custom packaging and labels available.
