Advantages of Mixed Ceramic Bearings

Hybrid ceramic bearings may not be as common, but their main configuration consists of inner and outer rings made of bearing steel/stainless steel + ceramic balls + PA66/stainless steel retainers + 2RS/ZZ combinations. Hybrid ceramic bearings offer the following four major advantages during use.

(1) High-temperature resistance and a low thermal expansion coefficient in ceramic balls prevent expansion due to temperature in high-temperature environments, significantly increasing the operating temperature of the entire bearing. While ordinary bearings typically operate around 160 degrees Celsius, ceramic balls can withstand temperatures exceeding 220 degrees Celsius.

(2) High rotational speed, with oil-free self-lubricating properties, ceramic balls have a low friction coefficient, thus enabling ceramic ball bearings to achieve high rotational speeds. Statistics show that bearings using ceramic balls can operate at speeds up to 1.5 times faster than conventional bearings.

(3) Longevity: Ceramic balls can operate without any lubricant, meaning that even if the lubricant dries out, the bearing can still function, thus preventing premature wear in ordinary bearings caused by dried-out lubricant. According to our tests and some customer feedback, the lifespan of bearings using ceramic balls is 2-3 times longer than that of standard bearings.

(4) Insulation: The use of ceramic ball bearings allows for insulation between the inner and outer rings of the bearing. Since ceramic balls are insulators, using them between the inner and outer rings of the bearing achieves the insulation effect. This enables the bearing to be used in conductive environments.
