Professional sports wooden flooring can absorb a significant amount of impact during athletes' jumps, fully protecting their ankle and knee joints, among other body functions. Additionally, the vibrations upon landing do not disrupt adjacent individuals' movements.

Therefore, an increasing number of gymnasiums are now using sports wood floors. To better highlight the advantages of sports wood floors, here are some points to be mindful of during installation:

One, Flooring Material Inspection

For critical flooring materials such as wood flooring, subflooring, composite boards, joists, flooring nails, moisture barriers, adhesives, and waterproof coatings, they must meet relevant standards and pass inspection before use. Particularly, the moisture content of the purchased wood flooring is a matter of great importance that consumers should pay close attention to.

Section II: Ground Treatment at the Grassroots Level

The first step before installing the wooden floor is the subfloor preparation, which primarily involves repairing the problematic surface to form a new subfloor, preventing the floor from buckling due to hollow and cracked original subfloors. After the subfloor is properly prepared, the surface must be leveled. An uneven surface not only causes gaps in the踢脚线 but also leads to an uneven overall floor with noises, severely affecting the floor's quality.

Three: Laying Floor Mats and Installing Skeletons

After the leveling is completed, once the ground is dry, you can lay the underlay and install the joists. The most common underlay materials in the market today are made of aluminum foil and polyester. They are tightly laid on the ground, serving the purposes of leveling, moisture and damp-proofing, vibration reduction, and floor protection.

For solid wood flooring installation, the requirement for ground flatness is not as strict as for laminate or engineered wood flooring; the installation of joists is a critical step. Ensure that the wood joists are typically made of kiln-dried cedar or white pine. The joists should be placed above a moisture-proof isolation layer to protect them from dampness. It's advisable to leave a gap of 10mm to 20mm between the joists and walls, furniture, etc., to accommodate the expansion and contraction of the flooring due to temperature changes.

The beam height should be determined based on the ground conditions, but cannot be less than 1.5 cm, and the width must be at least 3.5 cm. Local uneven areas should be repaired, and wood pads with a thickness of ≤5mm can be used to level them. It is important to note that after the beams are installed, a cleaning and dusting should be performed, followed by the even application of moisture-proof agents such as bamboo charcoal and camphorwood blocks, as well as insecticides.

Four: Optional Flooring Installation

Before the formal installation of sports wooden flooring, conduct a selection and pre-installation process. Use the flooring according to the principle of close color and texture, concentrating it in one room or a local area, and then gradually transition. During this process, you can also check for any issues such as uneven sizes or cracked ends. If you are satisfied with the pre-installation, you can then secure the flooring for the formal installation.

Step Five:踢脚线Installation

The skirting board thickness must be sufficient to cover the expansion joints between the floor surface and the wall; during installation, a gap of 1mm should be left between the skirting board and the floor surface to prevent hindrance of the floor's expansion. The wooden skirting board should be cut at the positive and negative angles before installation, and the joints should be sawn at a 45-degree angle for secure fixation.
