Flow rate is one of the crucial performance data for selecting a sand slurry pump, directly impacting the production and conveying capacity of the entire unit. If the design institute's process design can calculate the pump's normal, small, and large flow rates, when selecting a pump at a vertical mud pump manufacturer, the large flow rate should be the basis, considering the normal flow rate as well. In the absence of a large flow rate, it is typically taken as 1.1 times the normal flow rate as the large flow rate.

2. The required head for the installation system is another important performance data for selecting pumps, generally requiring a head allowance of 5% to 10% above the nominal head for selection.

3. Liquid properties, including the name of the liquid medium, physical properties, chemical properties, and other characteristics, as well as the diameter of solid particles in the medium and the content of gases, which are related to the system's head, effective NPSH calculation, and the appropriate sand slurry pump type: chemical properties primarily refer to the chemical corrosiveness and toxicity of the liquid medium, which are crucial for selecting the pump material and the type of shaft seal.
