Toilet wall leakage
Toilet wall leakage is primarily caused by water pipe leakage or waterproofing layer leakage.
Identified a leak in the water pipe, requiring partial excavation to replace the damaged section, followed by re-sealing and wall repairs.
Water leakage due to damage in the wall waterproofing layer is often observed at the bathroom door and the back wall skirting area. Horizontal water seepage from the bathroom can infiltrate into other rooms, and then the moisture absorbed by the wall can return upwards. This situation is quite common, and the water may also seep into other rooms and then leak downwards through cracks in the floorboards. The issue can be addressed by partially removing tiles, chiseling the wall for waterproofing, or by grouting waterproofing. The moldy areas of the wall should be removed and repatched. Occasionally, horizontal water leakage can also occur in balconies.
2. Ground leakage in bathrooms, kitchens, and balconies
Toilets, kitchens, and balcony floors leaking? It's usually a sign of water渗漏 to the floor below, primarily due to damaged waterproofing layers. Whether it's a waterproofing issue can be determined by first checking for pipe leaks, as some pipes are located on the floor. If a leak in the drain pipe is detected, the floor can be excavated and the pipe replaced.
In the event of damage to the waterproofing layer, a water-tightness test can be conducted. Common causes of water leakage to the lower floor include crack-type leaks and leaks near pipe openings. Solutions for waterproofing include redoing the entire waterproofing or using grouting waterproofing.
3. Window Sill Leaking
Window sills are also common areas prone to leakage, primarily due to small gaps between the bathroom window frame and the sill. When there's accumulated water on the exterior platform, it's easy for it to seep into the indoor space.
The condition is that the window frames on both sides and the wall below the window sills are moldy and peeling, with some even showing clear water. To resolve the window sill leakage, the structure under the original window frame needs to be knocked out, sealed with leak-proof material, and then waterproofed. For some, it requires rope-assisted high-altitude work that cannot be done indoors.
Roof leakage
The primary cause of roof leaks is the damage to the roof waterproofing layer. Roof waterproofing involves a large area, numerous junctions, and many detailed sections that require careful attention.
Once a crack appears in the waterproofing layer, it may lead to water leakage into various parts of the floor. The key is the bonding strength between the waterproofing layer and the floor. If there are many gaps in the bonding, the water can seep through to various places and then leak down through cracks.
There are both human factors related to inadequate workmanship and the possibility of waterproofing failure due to material aging over time. For roof waterproofing, if there is only one leaky point, you can locally excavate and cut the waterproofing layer to create a waterproof overlap to solve the problem; if there is widespread or multiple areas of leakage, it is recommended to redo the entire roof with membrane waterproofing.
5. Pipeline Supervisor Reports Leak
Leaking issues in aging main pipes can occur due to cracks or breaks, which are difficult to locate. Only after checking for leaks in the plumbing and waterproofing layers should one consider main pipe leaks, excluding exposed pipes.
6. Exterior wall leakage
Exterior walls, without water pipes, can all be deemed as exterior wall leaks, typically manifesting as mold or peeling on the walls or obvious damp stains. The main reason is that there are cracks in the exterior walls or a section of platform, and water accumulation can lead to seepage. The solution is to apply waterproofing to the exterior walls during高空作业, blocking the gaps to prevent water accumulation and leakage.
