III. Categories

Tube-in-tube cooler

This hydraulic press cooler comes in various types, including double-tube, vertical, horizontal, and floating head designs. The key feature is that the cooling water flows through the tubes internally, while the oil passes through the gaps between the tubes. Intermediate baffles allow the oil to zigzag, and its double or even quadruple flow pattern enhances its cooling efficiency significantly.

Shell and Tube CoolerComposed of the outer shell and the internal cooler body. Due to variations in specific structural designs, they are categorized by external connection type into threaded pipe and flanged; by installation type into horizontal and vertical; by floating type into floating disc and floating head; by tube structure into helical tube and finned tube; and by baffle structure into arch baffles, rectangular baffles, double weir baffles, and circular baffles, among other configurations, all selected based on specific conditions.

The external shell includes: the cylinder, water-dividing cover, and return cover. It is equipped with inlet and outlet oil pipes, as well as inlet and outlet water pipes, and is fitted with oil and water drainage, exhaust plug, zinc rod mounting hole with temperature gauge interface, etc.

Cooler body is composed of cooler tubes, fixed hole plates, moving hole plates, baffle plates, etc. The ends of the cooler tubes are connected to the fixed and moving hole plates. There is a leakage of engine oil inside the cooler of the cooler loader; the fixed hole plate and the outer casing.Flange connectionThe moving baffle can freely expand and contract within the outer body to eliminate the impact of temperature on the cooler tubes due to thermal expansion and contraction. The baffle plate serves to enhance heat transfer and support the cooler tubes.

Principle

The heat medium of the tube bundle cooler enters through the header on the cylinder, sequentially passing through each bend passage, and曲折ly flowing to the header outlet. The cooler medium, however, utilizes a two-pass flow, where the cooler medium enters through the inlet and flows into half of the cooler tubes via a water-distributing cover, then returns through the return water cover to the other half of the cooler tubes, entering the other side water-distributing cover and outlet pipe. During the two-pass flow of the cold medium, it absorbs the excess heat released by the heat medium and discharges it through the outlet, maintaining the working medium at the rated operating temperature.

Due to the refrigerant fluid (cold medium) andRecirculating Cooling Water(Working Fluid) does not come into direct contact; they transfer the heat from the circulating cooling water to the chilled water through heat exchange plates. At this point, the circulating cooling water with higher temperature is cooled down to become low-temperature fluid. When the fluids on both sides of the heat exchange plates are at a constant temperature for heat transfer,

It includes three processes:

1) The heat transfer process by convection during the flow of recirculating cooling water (working fluid) to the wall of the heat exchanger sheet.

2) Heat transfer process through the heat exchange plate;

3) Heat transfer by convection to the chilled water (refrigerant fluid) via the heat exchange plate wall on the other side.

Air-cooled cooler

The third type of air-cooled cooler is also divided into various types such as indirect, fixed, and suspended, etc. It boasts many features as well, with its simple structure, compact size and weight, and ease of use being among its strengths [3].

Air-cooled oil cooler (also known as an air cooler) is a cooling unit that uses air as its cooling source.Aluminum alloy plateFinned heat exchangers feature oil and air channels with heat exchanging fins, offering a larger heat exchange area per volume and high thermal efficiency, utilizing air as the medium for heat transfer. Compared to water-cooled radiators, they are not only easier to install and maintain but also prevent the mixing of oil and water caused by bursting copper pipes, which can severely damage the system. Furthermore, for equipment that needs to be moved frequently (such as construction machinery), they eliminate the need to consider water supply, and there's no need to dismantle and reconstruct a water circulation system, making them increasingly popular eco-friendly products.

Installation Method

 

Cooling unit installation methods include:Vertical Cold Oil CoolerAndHorizontal Cold Oil CoolerThe vertical cooler features a compact installation area and ease of installation. The horizontal cooler offers lower pressure drop and strong resistance to water impact. Therefore, selecting the appropriate vertical or horizontal cooler based on specific site requirements, space height, and performance needs can better meet the needs of generators and other equipment.

ChillerPressure TestUpon qualification, the equipment can be put into use, and the front end should be fully drained of internal water.

(2) Check if all drain and vent valves operate smoothly and are functioning properly, and ensure that the pressure gauge and thermometer are fully installed.

(3) Inspect the base and support for stability, and ensure that all bolts are fully engaged and securely tightened.

(4) When in use, first introduce cold flow, followed by hot flow.

(5) When using cold or hot mediums, ensure the auxiliary line is clear first, then slowly open the outlet valve. After confirming there are no issues, open the inlet valve and make sure to open it slowly to prevent pressure build-up. Pay attention to observe any changes in the equipment during the operation. After the cooler is put into use, leakage may occur due to changes in temperature and pressure, so it should be checked promptly.
