III. Categories

Tube-type cooler

This hydraulic press cooler comes in various types, including double-tube, vertical, horizontal, and floating head designs. Its feature is that the cooling water flows through the tube interior, while the oil passes through the gaps between the tubes. The baffles in the middle allow the oil to deflect, and its double or even quadruple flow pattern enhances its cooling efficiency significantly.

Tube-in-tube coolerComposed of the external shell and the internal cooler body. Due to varying structural designs, it is divided into pipe threaded and flanged connections externally; into horizontal and vertical installations; into floating disc and floating head types; into spiral tube and fin tube structures for the cooler tubes; and into various structures such as arch baffles, rectangular baffles, double-ridge baffles, and circular baffles for the baffle design, all selected based on specific conditions.

The external housing includes: the cylinder, water-dividing cover, and return water cover. It is equipped with inlet and outlet oil pipes, as well as inlet and outlet water pipes. It also features oil and water drainage, exhaust plug, zinc rod mounting hole with temperature gauge interface, etc.

Cooler body is composed of cooler tubes, fixed hole plates, moving hole plates, baffle plates, etc. The ends of the cooler tubes are connected to the fixed and moving hole plates. Principle

The heat medium of the tube-type cooler enters through the header on the cylinder, sequentially passing through each baffle channel and曲折ly flowing to the header outlet. The cooler medium uses a two-pass flow, meaning the cooler medium enters through the inlet and flows into half of the cooler tubes after passing through the dividing cover, then flows into the other half of the cooler tubes from the return water cover, into the other side dividing cover, and finally through the outlet pipe. During the two-pass flow of the cold medium, it absorbs the excess heat released by the heat medium and discharges it through the outlet, maintaining the rated working temperature of the working medium.

3) Heat transfer by convection to the chilled water (refrigerant fluid) via the heat exchange plate wall on the other side.

Air-cooled cooler

The third type of air-cooled cooler is also divided into various types such as indirect, fixed, and suspended, etc. It boasts many features as well, with its simple structure, compact size and weight, and ease of use being among its advantages [3].

Air-cooled oil cooler (also known as an air cooler) is a type of cooler that uses air as its cooling source.Aluminum alloy plateFinned heat exchangers feature oil and air channels with heat exchange fins in the core body, offering a larger heat exchange area per volume and high heat transfer efficiency, conducting heat exchange through air as the medium. Compared to water-cooled radiators, they are not only easier to install and maintain but also prevent the mixing of oil and water caused by burst copper pipes, which can severely damage the system. Additionally, for equipment that requires relocation of work sites (such as construction machinery), they eliminate the need to consider water supply, and there's no need for dismantling and rebuilding water circulation systems, making them increasingly popular eco-friendly products.

Installation Method

 

Cooling system installation methods include:Vertical Cold Oil CoolerAndHorizontal Cool Oil UnitVertical coolers feature a small required installation area and easy installation. Horizontal cool oilers have characteristics such as lower pressure drop and strong resistance to water impact. Therefore, selecting the appropriate vertical or horizontal cool oiler based on different site conditions, space height, and performance requirements can better meet the needs of generator sets and other equipment.

CoolerPressure TestUpon qualification, the equipment may be put into use, and ensure the front is completely drained of internal water.

(2) Inspect the operation of all drain and vent valves, ensuring they are smooth and functional as well as the correct positioning of the switches. Verify that the pressure gauge and thermometer are fully installed.

(3) Inspect the base and support for stability, and ensure all bolts are fully engaged and securely tightened.

(4) During operation, first introduce cold stream, followed by hot stream.

(5) When using cold or hot media, ensure the auxiliary line is clear first, then gradually open the outlet valve. After confirming there are no issues, open the inlet valve slowly to prevent pressure build-up. Monitor the equipment for any changes during the startup process. After the cooler is in operation, leaks may occur due to changes in temperature and pressure, so timely inspections should be conducted.
