The corrosion-resistant property of the 00Cr20Ni25Mo4.5Cu steel is crucial for addressing corrosion issues and has evolved for this purpose. It also resists corrosion by any concentration and temperature of vinegar under normal pressure. It exhibits good corrosion resistance in -409 stainless steel round bars, secondary investments in 409 stainless steel round bars, and during the vinegar assimilation process. The operation according to GB1223-75 T method tests the intergranular corrosion tendency of the 00Cr20Ni25Mo4.5Cu steel, showing that when the steel contains 0.038% C, it undergoes weak deformation. This steel shows intergranular corrosion only after sensitization for more than one hour, hence there is no risk of intergranular corrosion in 409 stainless steel round bars, even when welding thickness does not exceed 30mm components, as long as the welding process is appropriate. The pitting potential measurement and pitting test indicate that the 00Cr20Ni25Mo4.5Cu steel is superior to the low-alloyed Cr-Ni austenitic steels such as 00Cr18Ni10 and 00Cr18Ni14Mo2. The 5Cu steel contains up to 25% nickel, hence it boasts superior stress corrosion resistance compared to the more common Cr-Ni austenitic steel.
