Steel strip pipe utilizes U-shaped steel strip and composite PE material, enhancing hoop stiffness without increasing costs, offering superior performance compared to spiral-wound pipes and corrugated pipes under the same weight. It can address a range of heavy-load issues. Our large-diameter production pipes range from DN300mm to DN2400mm, maintaining hoop stiffness above 8KN/m2. They are also lighter than cement pipes and other plastic pipes.
Characteristics of steel strip pipes:
1. Resistant to contamination, waste water, and chemical corrosion; not prone to degradation due to decomposing matter in the soil.
2. The pipe wall features a "U"-shaped structure, making it less prone to cracking even under ground settlement. It also boasts excellent recovery properties after deformation and great adaptability to different ground conditions.
3. Pipe materials are typically black and can withstand direct sunlight exposure during storage and construction.
4. Piping is not prone to cracking or leaking due to expansion in -60℃ environments.
5. Lightweight: Easy to transport and install, being only 1/8 the weight of cement pipes; requires only an excavator for trenching, no large machinery needed.
6. Easy to connect, pipe sections can be assembled outside the trench and then pushed into place by a bulldozer, reducing engineering time and costs.
7. Good transport capacity for domestic wastewater sludge.
8. Internally smooth to minimize friction and ensure rapid drainage.
9. Low construction, management, and maintenance costs.
10. The circular external tensile structure of the pipe not only enhances the hoop stiffness of the pipe but also serves as a root restraint, addressing the tension and well-capping issues caused by longitudinal displacement of the pipeline.
11. Due to the elastic modulus ratio of steel and plastic materials exceeding 200 and the weight ratio exceeding 7.85, steel strip-reinforced pipes (especially large-diameter pipes) are more likely to have hoop stiffness and stiffness-to-weight ratios compared to pure plastic pipes.
