Compared to the conventional constant-frequency AC power supply systems, the 270V high-voltage DC power supply system offers several advantages, including high power generation efficiency, lighter weight for both generation and distribution systems, reduced weight for avionics power supplies, high reliability, ease of uninterrupted power supply, and lower lifecycle costs. According to the research results of the U.S. on power supply systems for large transport aircraft, the high-voltage DC power supply system excels in overall performance, reliability, maintainability, and weight criteria, making it an attractive power system option. However, it is not yet being adopted on trunk-line aircraft. This is because such a change would involve altering the power supply system, necessitating a large-scale replacement of electrical equipment or the addition of numerous power converters to existing equipment. Therefore, the initial consideration for trunk-line aircraft is to locally implement high-voltage DC power in some necessary applications, such as using high-voltage DC power solely for the flight control system. In the new generation of aircraft, 270V is increasingly being considered as the standard power supply.
