Direct current (DC) power supplies are devices that maintain a steady current in circuits, and our company has been engaged in research and production of these products, which are our main offerings. They can be customized according to the user's requirements. However, many may not be aware that DC power supply specifications generally fall into two categories: quality specifications, which measure the stability of the power supply's output voltage, mainly through the voltage regulation factor, output resistance, ripple voltage, and temperature coefficient; and characteristic specifications, which indicate the degree of adjustment allowed for output voltage and current, as well as input voltage and current.
(1) Ripple Voltage - Ripple voltage refers to the AC component superimposed on the output voltage, which can be observed using an oscilloscope, typically at a millivolt level. It can also be measured with an AC millivolt meter, but since ripple is not pure sine wave, it can introduce some error. (2) Voltage Regulation Ratio - To ensure that changes in the input voltage of a DC power supply do not affect the output voltage, it is crucial to maintain a constant load current and ambient temperature. (3) Output Resistance - The output resistance of a DC power supply is similar to that of an amplifier. Its value is generally determined by the ratio of the change in output voltage to the change in output current, with the input voltage remaining constant.
