Stability: When the line voltage or load current varies, the output voltage of a DC power supply will fluctuate accordingly. The degree of stabilization is determined by the parameters of the voltage regulation circuit, which include the capacitance of the filter capacitor and the rate of energy release. If a relatively constant power source is supplied to the power supply, only basic load stabilization is required. The stability is generally defined as the percentage of output voltage under no-load or full-load conditions, or the change in voltage value.

2. Pulsations and Noise: An ideal DC power supply should provide pure DC, but there is always some interference present, such as pulsating current and high-frequency oscillations叠加 on the output ports of switching power supplies. These two interferences, along with the sharp noise generated by the power supply itself, cause intermittent and random drift.

3. Switching Power Supply Transient Response or Recovery: The magnitude of the power supply's transient response and recovery time indicates its ability to restore to normal voltage when the output load suddenly changes. There are two parameters to characterize the power supply's transient response and recovery: one is the deviation from the output when the load changes suddenly; the other is the time taken for the output to recover to its original value. For consistency, it is generally specified that when the load changes by 10%, the deviation is measured in millivolts from the peak output voltage, and the recovery time is measured in millivolts taken to restore to the normal value. Some manufacturers, however, use a larger load current change to determine recovery time, such as the time taken to restore to normal value when the output current changes from 50% to 100%. 4. Internal Impedance: A relatively high internal resistance of a power supply is disadvantageous for the load in two ways. Firstly, it hinders the stable operation of the load's voltage regulation circuit. More critically, any change in the load current will cause fluctuations in the DC power supply output. These fluctuations have the same impact on test results as pulses and noise.
