Four Steps for Installing Three-Phase Frequency Converter Power Supplies

Step 1: During transportation, the power supply should not be placed upside down or flat, and the bottom dimensions must be confirmed. When transporting goods, the loading limit and volume suitability must be determined. When transporting on a flat surface, the components of the equipment must be removed from the power supply and then assembled at the installation site; however, reliability of the equipment may be compromised during assembly (not recommended).

Step 2: The output power (or rated power) is marked on the power supply label. At this point, the rated power of all devices connected to the three-phase variable frequency power supply should not exceed the total output power of the power supply. This method is commonly referred to as matching the output power of the three-phase variable frequency power supply with the power consumption of the load. However, some equipment may have a startup power that is 5-8 times the rated power (e.g., if the motor rated power is 1000W, the load matching should be calculated as 5×1000W=5000W). For resistive devices other than motors, compressors, electric pumps, etc., considering the power supply cannot operate at full load for extended periods, the load matching should be based on 80% of the power supply's output power. 115/200V power supply, 400HZ power supply, aviation ground power supply, 15V, 27V DC power supply.

Step 3: Connect the output cables according to electrical standards; the power supply must be securely grounded! The neutral wire diameter is determined by 1.5 times the output/bypass phase current. The grounding wire diameter should be twice the output/bypass phase current. For cables with excessive current, consider using a parallel method with thinner cables, which can greatly facilitate installation.

Four Steps to Install Three-Phase Variable Frequency Power Supply: 4. Ensure all input distribution switches and all internal power switches of the power supply system are completely disconnected. Place warning signs on these air switches to prevent others from operating the power switches. Open the power supply front door to see the connected terminal strips. Connect the protective grounding and other necessary grounding cables to the power system wiring. Note: The connection of the grounding wire to the neutral wire must comply with local and relevant regulations. Ensure the phase sequence is correct. Place the system output cables between the output bus (universal joint N-end) and the critical load, with a tightening torque of 13 Nm (M8 bolt) and 26 Nm (M10 bolt).
