Direct current (DC) power equipment with higher frequencies is beneficial for reducing rectifier ripple.
The power for the aircraft's generator comes from the aviation engine, which operates at a high speed.
High-frequency generators operate at higher speeds with lower torques, thus requiring less volume and weight.

At the same voltage, there are differences in transmission power and rectification efficiency between 50Hz, 60Hz, and 400Hz power sources. The reason 100Hz or 120Hz is not used in the aviation field is due to the high frequency, which on one hand makes transmission difficult, and on the other hand, the high rotational speed of generators and motors or excessive pole numbers are not suitable. After rectification, 400Hz power sources have smaller ripple and higher ripple frequency, which is easier to handle, making them more suitable for aviation and high-demand applications.
