The protective structure of variable frequency power supplies must be suitable for their installation environment. This requires considering factors such as environmental temperature, humidity, dust, pH level, and corrosive gases, as these are crucial for the long-term, safe, and reliable operation of the variable frequency power supplies. Most manufacturers of variable frequency power supplies offer the following common protective structures for customer selection:
The Open-type IP00, which protects the live parts inside the variable frequency power supply that cannot be touched by humans from the front, is suitable for installation on screens, panels, and racks inside electrical cabinets or rooms, especially beneficial in environments where multiple variable frequency power supplies are used together. However, it has higher requirements for the installation environment.
(2) The closed-type variable frequency power supplies with IP20 and IP21 protection structures feature an outer casing encircling all sides, allowing for wall-mounted installation on building walls. They are suitable for most indoor installation environments.
(3) The sealing type IP40, IP42 is suitable for industrial field environments with poor conditions.
(4) The enclosed type with IP54, IP55 ratings features dust and water-resistant protective structures, suitable for industrial environments with poor conditions, such as water splashes, dust, and certain corrosive gases.
