The aviation battery charger converts three-phase 115V AC power to DC power, charging the aircraft battery. After the battery is fully charged, the charger automatically switches to TR mode. In this mode, the charger operates as a TRU, maintaining a constant 27.5V DC output to power the connected busbars. In TR mode, the battery charger can supply up to 65A of current to the battery busbars. The charger panel features two green status indicator LEDs (LEDs), which light up normally to indicate the charger and battery status.

The battery charger's operation is divided into three stages: basic charging, overcharging, and maintenance (TR mode).

During the basic charging state, the battery charger's voltage is adjustable, performing a constant current charge on the battery at a rate of 50A, with the process duration typically reaching 90 minutes. The charger continuously monitors the battery's temperature and voltage, automatically transitioning to an overcharge state when conditions are met.

During overcharge, the charger outputs a constant voltage to charge the battery at a constant voltage, with the duration of the overcharge stage being 4 times the basic charging time plus 22.5 minutes. The charger then enters the TR mode, indicating the end of charging, with the total charging time limited to 180 minutes.

In TR mode, the aviation battery is in a trickle charging state, with the charging current of the battery maintained at around 1A. At this point, the battery is in its optimal capacity state.
