The Programmable DC Power Supply/27V DC Power Supply is a device used to maintain a steady voltage and current in a circuit. For instance, dry cells, lead-acid batteries, and DC generators all utilize DC power supplies. Next, let's share some common knowledge about the use of programmable DC power supplies.
(1) Application of Inductive Loads
When opening or closing a programmable DC power supply, or when changing the output voltage, inductive loads generate a reverse electromotive force that affects the operation of the programmable DC power supply. In severe cases, it can lead to damage to the programmable DC power supply. Therefore, we should connect a diode in series between the output of the programmable DC power supply and the load, and parallel a resistor and a capacitor at the load. This effectively protects the programmable DC power supply.
Battery Load Applications
When charging battery-type loads with programmable DC power supplies, we can prevent damage to the power supply due to incorrect battery polarity. Therefore, we connect a diode in series between the power supply and the battery, which ensures the safe operation of the programmable DC power supply.
Pulse Load Applications
Even within the rated current range of a programmable DC power supply output, or for pulse-type circuits or motors, when the current's peak value is within the nominal value indicated by the measuring equipment, the current will still reach the rated current area, which can cause the output voltage to drop or become unstable. The solution is to connect an inductor between the power supply and the load, which can effectively resolve the issue.
(4) Capacitive Load Applications
Capacitive loads can cause an increase in output voltage, particularly when transitioning from a higher to a lower output voltage, where the voltage drop is extremely slow. Therefore, it is advisable to parallel a power resistor at the output of the programmable DC power supply and connect a diode between the output and the load. This arrangement can effectively mitigate the issue.
