Polyethylene (PE) water supply pipes may leak during use, causing inconvenience to our construction efforts, especially when they are buried underground with soil cover or fixed to walls. Therefore, to prevent such occurrences, we should pay particular attention during construction and take precautions beforehand.
To prevent leakage in the PEX water pipes and ensure the water quality is unaffected, it is mandatory to strictly test the water pressure and conduct a flushing test prior to construction.
When crossing floors, set steel sleeve pipes and add water-retaining rings based on whether the drainage pipes are fixed to the floor slab.
3. During the production of PE water pipes, manufacturers must ensure compatibility, using appropriate connection methods at the joints and selecting products of varying thicknesses based on different PE pipe types.
4. Additionally, when the PE water pipes are being installed through walls during construction, it is necessary to set fixed sleeves to prevent leaks. The sleeves must be flush with the finish, and the gaps should be completely filled with waterproof material.
These measures are methods to prevent leaks in PEX piping. Now that we are aware of these methods, we should apply them in actual installation processes to preemptively prevent such leakages.
