Gantry cranes are large overhead cranes with a "gateway" shaped structure consisting of a beam and columns, capable of moving along tracks and lifting heavy loads. The use and maintenance of gantry cranes should be based on an effective program, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections. To help users better maintain the equipment, we now summarize the following maintenance tasks:
Routine Inspections: Crane operators are typically responsible for maintenance, which includes cleaning, lubricating transmission components, adjusting, and securing. The unit passes operational tests, demonstrating sensitivity and reliability, capable of detecting abnormal sounds.
2. Weekly Inspections: Conducted by technical staff and operators. In addition to routine checks, the main content includes visual inspections, crane and material handling equipment condition checks, wire rope inspections, as well as sensitivity and reliability tests of brakes, clutches, and emergency alarm systems. Also, observations of abnormal noises and overheating conditions in drive components through operation.
Monthly inspections: Organized by the Equipment Management Department, conducted jointly by relevant personnel from the using departments. In addition to the weekly inspection content, the main checks include the status of the gantry crane's power system, lifting mechanism, rotating mechanism, operating mechanism, and hydraulic system, as well as the wear, deformation, cracking, and corrosion of replaced parts. Inspections are also conducted on the electrical control system, feeding device, controller, and overflow. The reliability of load protection and protective devices is assessed. During testing and operation, signs of leakage, pressure, temperature, vibration, and noise in the gantry crane are checked. Subjective inspections of the crane's structure, supports, and transmission parts are made through observation to understand the technical condition of the gantry crane and determine the fault sources of abnormal phenomena.
4. Annual Inspection: The unit's head should organize the equipment management department to lead and coordinate with relevant departments. In addition to monthly inspection items, the technical parameters of the overhead crane are mainly tested, and reliability is assessed. Through testing instruments, overhead cranes, moving parts of the working mechanism, metal structure welding, defects are tested, and detectability of devices and components is improved. Evaluate the technical status of the equipment's operation. Arrange for major repairs, renovations, and updating plans.
